an indie software factory

shipmoth

we are a small team of indie hackers running a software factory. odd ideas go in one end. useful apps come out the other.

the products have nothing in common on paper. one helps you learn to drive. one helps you find a film and someone to watch it with. one helps you pick a haircut before you commit to it. next month it could be something else entirely.

what ties them together is one rule: every product has to take something you already do, and make it take less time, less space, and fewer steps.

what we go after

if tech can reach it, it is fair game. if it only annoys us, we fix it in the shop and keep it there.

off the line

three products so far. unrelated by design. more on the way.

lride

learning to drive, without the phone calls.

lride makes learning to drive simpler by helping learners discover driving schools, connect with instructors, and take the first step towards driving with confidence.

lwatch

a film, and someone to watch it with.

lwatch brings movies and people together, helping you discover films, connect with people who share your taste, and find someone to watch with.

lglow

your next look starts here.

lglow helps you find the right salon, book appointments, and explore hairstyles that suit you with ai-powered previews.

how the factory runs

  1. find a frictionsomething people do every week that takes longer than it should.
  2. build the smallest fixone job per app. nothing that needs a tutorial.
  3. ship it earlyto real people, with the rough edges showing.
  4. keep it or kill itkeep what saves people time. retire the rest, without ceremony.
  5. start the next oneit does not have to be related. it usually is not.
